As a result of linking farmers with end users in order to create transparancy and interdependency, creating a fair efficient supply chain when having a sustainable positive impact. In order to achieve these purposes, Rempahsari employs more than 300 farmers at central production of Cassia in Korintji for planting and harvesting many kind grades of Indonesia Cassia, then more than one hundreds of employees process these raw materials to be qualified, clean and hygiene products.
More than 70 % of Indonesia Cassia in today’s world wide market originates from Indonesia. Most of them grows in Korintji, Jambi and West Sumatera provinces in Sumatera island - Indonesia. These world largest Cassia plantation are welknown as the producer of high quality Cassia. Earliest harvesting can be done when the trees 7 -10 years old to produce the best quality of Indonesia Cassia, Vera AA quality.
Cinnamon/Cassia is a valuable spice that is obtained from the bark of Cassia trees (Cinnamon Burmanii) that belongs to laurel family and it’s native from Korintji and West Sumatera. Rempahsari process the goods to be 3 kind of products, Broken and Cleaned, Short Sticks and Long S?ticks Cassia.
Rempahsari is one of the biggest Cassia exporter from Indonesia with export capacity 2,500 - 3,000, Metric Tons annually, we produce all grades of Indonesia Cassia and so far our product’s quality has been widely accepted by wide world market and our main market is to Europe, The USA, Southern America etc.
Since the establishment in 1964, Rempahsari has been making changes the world by producing Indonesia spices and commodity , like Clove, Nutmeg, Coffee, Essential Oils and Cassia but since 1970th Rempahsari focuses only to produce and export the high quality product of Indonesia Cassia.
VIEW COMPANYCassia trees can grow very well at the height of 400 - 800 meters above sea level. Mostly Cassia trees grow at more than 19 provinces in Indonesia but Korintji in Jambi and West Sumatera are the best and largest producer Cinnamon in the world, its soil structure and temperature is compatible for this plantation. The harvest can be done when the trees at least 7 - 10 years old by taking out the main bark of the trees.
Even though Indonesia Cassia is processed by hundred of traditional farmers at central production in Korintji and West Sumatera areas, but most of customers require food safety certification such as Hazard Analysis Critical Points (HACCP) and Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000 and Rempahsari has succeeded to obtain both certificates, then improvement of machines (Broken and Cutting ) are also required and in order to eliminate metal things on products, a Metal Detector is available.
In humid climates or during the rainy season it will be necessary to use a mechanical dryer to complete the drying process. There are a range of dryers available to suit different situations (electrical, gas fired, biomass fuelled).
In order to keep sustainability program for this products, we should have relationship with group of farmers at central production by making coaching program, transferring of technology and knowledge in order to enable them to produce high quality product and guarantee customers for a sustainable supply, clean and hygienic products.
The Indonesian cassia is of the cinnamomum burmannii blum species. The botanical term is "cassia vera", while locally it is known as "Kayu Manis" (Bahasa), "sweet wood".
